Canvas is the learning management system at the University of Iceland. All courses have a course web in Canvas, which offer a wide range of possibilities...
The exam system Inspera provides specialised services to help you set up and implement exams. Inspera is the most secure system to use for interim or final examinations. Students can be confident their work won't be lost, since it autosaves every 15-30 seconds. Students sit exams anonymously. 200 exam computers are available to borrow for students who are unable to use their own computer.
Panopto enables instructors to record lectures and create smaller screen recordings and presentations. When you start a Panopto recording in a Canvas course, the recording is saved to the course web automatically. Panopto is simple to use and it is possible to watch recordings in most browsers and smart devices. You can also use Panopto for live streams. This allows students to follow teaching in real time. The program is installed on most teaching computers at the University of Iceland and is a good tool for recording your teaching. You can also install Panopto on your own computer and record on that when convenient. Panopto is better than Studio for classroom recordings and for longer recordings (30 min +).
FeedbackFruits is a collection of tools that has been added to Canvas at UI. They can be used for interactive teaching, feedback and peer review and give more options to work together with material in Canvas.
Studio is the recording software within Canvas. Studio lets you record videos and save, sort and edit texts and various other things. Both students and instructors have access to Studio.
Teachers have access to two types of conferencing software that enables people to communicate remotely using audio and video. It is possible to divide teams into smaller groups, share screens and so forth.
